Spectacularly situated at the foot of the Matterhorn, the Swiss resort of Zermatt has the reputation of being a world-class resort with plenty to offer in the way of fantastic skiing, picturesque surroundings and a dynamic aprs-ski scene. Two members of the Flexiski UK team Pete Hillyard and Amy Askew recently travelled out to Zermatt to discover what makes this Swiss ski resort so iconic.
On arrival into Geneva they caught the train up to the town of Visp and from there took the connection to Zermatt. The train journey up to the resort is beautiful and in itself, offers a unique transfer option and fantastic start to a ski holiday in Zermatt. The train station within the resort is situated just off the pedestrianised high street ensuring an easy arrival into this chocolate-box, car-free village.
Amy and Pete were staying in the Hotel Mirabeau where they took advantage of the hotels luxurious spa facilities and woke up to sunny views of the Matterhorn from their balconies. As well as the Hotel Mirabeau, they visited several other hotels in Zermatt which will all be featured in the flexiski programme for the 2011/12 ski season. They found all of the hotel staff extremely welcoming and the standard of the hotels to be exceptionally high.
On their first day in Zermatt, they took a trip on Europes highest-altitude cable car up to the Matterhorn glacier which sits at 3883m. Unfortunately, they didnt have time to sample the summer skiing but from the top of the cable car they were able to gain an insight of what the skiing in Zermatt is like, with views across this incredible ski terrain.
After their trip up the glacier and various meetings with hotels, the tourist board and Ski Summit (a local ski school), Amy and Pete spent the evening strolling around the picture post-card village centre and sampling the reputable nightlife of Zermatt. As a year round resort, the streets are never empty and so even in the summer months the bars are lively, the restaurants are full and there is a general buzz around town.
On the first night of their trip they ate at the Pizza and Spaghetti Factory, an impressive restaurant spread over three levels within the contemporary Post Hotel (which incidentally seems to be the most popular night-spot of the resort with its 4 restaurants and 5 bars and clubs). On the second night they opted for a more traditional restaurant, the Caf du Pont which offers delicious Swiss cuisine at great value. They were pleased to discover that with regards to dining in Zermatt, there is something to suit all tastes and budgets, from gourmet Swiss cuisine to laid back pizzerias.
There was only one thing left to do before Pete and Amys departure! After Pascal at the tourist office advised that the Zermatt experience is only truly complete once you have danced on the barrel in the Broken Bar or taken a trip on the Gornergrat Railway, they sensibly opted for the latter and embarked on a breath-taking ascent up the mountain. This historic railway is not only an iconic part of Zermatts heritage, it also serves an important function during the winter months and acts as one of three main ski lifts transporting skiers from the resort centre up onto the mountain. The 30 minute journey takes you through idyllic forests, across viaducts and over beautiful mountain scenery, terminating at 3100m on a sunny platform with impressive views of the glacier and the Matterhorn.
Amy and Pete departed from the resort feeling like they had experienced all of whats on offer in this beautiful town and were reassured that Zermatt will be a perfect fit within the flexiski resort portfolio.

The Famagusta area of Cyprus covers a large part of the Islands East coast and includes the town of Paralimni. Originally the town of Famagusta itself would have lain at the heart of the district but alas it now lies in total dereliction. In fact it has been labeled a ghost town and not without good reason. In 1974 Turkey invaded Northern Cyprus and Famagusta town was where they halted that invasion. The once proud holiday resort portion of the town now lies partly enclosed within the buffer zone between the North and South. This area is patrolled by a United Nations peace keeping force and the larger part of Famagusta resort is now totally inaccessible. Tourist can however visit the Turkish side of the Island and see for themselves the crumbling ruins of this once prestigious holiday resort.
Close to the border with northern Cyprus is the village of Kapparis which at one time was the last stop on the main coastal road to Famagusta town. Over the years kapparis has grown into a thriving resort with bars, restaurants and supermarkets lining the main street. There has also been huge property development in the resort recently which in turn has led to an influx of holiday home buyers most of who are British. In fact Kapparis has earned itself the nickname “little Britain” in light of the many Brits who have settled there. It is also one of the few holiday resorts on the Islands West coast that stays open all year round. So if you love genuine fish and chips or a Chinese take away Kapparis is the ideal place to take your Cyprus holidays.
About two miles down the road is one of Famagusta’s gems, a sleepy little holiday resort called Pernera which nestles against the coast just below a small hill. You would be surprised how many people don’t even know that it’s there and pass straight by on the main road. The resort has plenty of great places to eat and it really is a great family resort. It’s got plenty to offer without being too brash which is probably why those who have discovered it return year after year. The safe sandy bays are perfect for bathing and the clear blue Mediterranean waters make them great for snorkeling. Most of the bars provide evening entertainment and there are some real nice restaurants that won’t charge you the earth either. If you are in the mood for finger food the Southern fried chicken is worth a visit and there’s even a pizza hut too.
Right next door to Pernera is her big sister Protaras with it’s long strip and huge beach. There are literally hundreds of bars and restaurants on the resort making it ideal for those who prefer a lively holiday. A visit to the fig tree bay area is highly recommended especially if you enjoy all kinds of water sports such as paracending and water skiing. You can even hire a powerboat by the hour and take to the high seas yourself. The choice of places to eat is nothing short of bewildering with just about every kind of cuisine on offer somewhere including the obligatory Macdonalds. The resort is modern and clean with everything you need in one place making it an ideal family resort.
Twenty minutes drive away is the largest resort in the Famagusta area, Agia Napa the party capital of Cyprus. If you want night life then Agia Napa is the place to be. It’s not just about partying until dawn though because the resort is also great for families and the beaches are magnificent. There’s a bustling harbor too that’s shared by modern pleasure cruisers and traditional fishing boats. If you turn up there early enough you could even buy some sea fresh fish for your dinner. The town itself has plenty to offer in the way of shops and restaurants of every kind. If you are feeling adventurous there is the famous Nissi beach area with it’s bungie jump crane and a whole lot more besides. Don’t forget that Agia Napa also boast one of the best water parks in Europe too where you can scare yourself witless on the giant water slides.
With some great resorts and the main town of Paralimni the Famagusta area of Cyprus has something for everyone. If you fancy a spot of retail therapy Paralimni town is a great place to shop with plenty of boutiques and even a Marks and Spencers. Afterwards you can relax in one of the trendy cafe bars dotted around the pretty town square or quench your thirst with a cool beer in one of the many tavernas. There are several large supermarkets that sell everything from tea bags to furniture and much more besides. Look out for the bakeries that are springing up all over the place. They are open 24 hours and sell all those essential items like bread and milk plus some calorie laden goodies for those with a sweet tooth. Enjoy your holidays and enjoy visiting the Famagusta area of Cyprus.

Chances are you had a significant other that you recently broke up with. Now you are feeling all alone, depressed and at your wit’s end after realizing you have lost the person you love the most. Now you want that person to be back but you believe that the probability of fixing a broken relationship is slim to none. But don’t give up hope! Fixing a broken relationship and rekindling that old love may not be easy but it is possible. Below are some tips which may help you start fixing a broken relationship.
1.Usually, break-ups happen when both of the parties involved are angry. Decision making through rational thinking is completely obstructed by emotions. It helps to be calm and be back at your rational state before trying to start fixing a broken relationship. You can’t hurry things up. Fixing a broken relationship is a process. Although waiting for the right time to do things sucks, you have no choice but to wait so that your efforts can succeed. Remember, before you start fixing a broken relationship, it is advisable that you give your significant other the space they have always wanted. The reality of things is you are always hurting them and yourself, whether they are with or without you. It’s much better leaving them off alone so that you and your significant other could think things through.
2.Talking to your ex a week after your break up is a big no-no. Learn to respect each other’s feelings. Being clingy, needy and desperate for your ex may not be one of your normal traits and lessens your chance of fixing a broken relationship. Stop stalking to your ex and give them time to miss you. According to studies, it takes a minimum of 3 months before a person totally gets over something important that happened with their lives. By that time, you have accepted your break up, cleared the cloud of thoughts in your head and ready to pursue fixing a broken relationship. Never forget to ask your friend’s point of view before fixing a broken relationship. They got some unbiased advices to say.
3.You can start fixing a broken relationship with your ex by sending her a long, meaningful and straightforward written letter or email. As you both progress fixing a broken relationship, talk about the problems your relationship had in the past. Talk about the things you don’t like with each other and remember to be sensitive and respectful to each others’ feelings while doing it. And while fixing a broken relationship, it is important that you first talk as friends. Making up with an intimate behavior just sugar coats the problems from your past. After you are done fixing a broken relationship, you want to take things slow and make sure that your feelings towards each other are certain.
When fixing a broken relationship, learn from your mistakes. Relationships are filled with combined and mutual emotions between two people. Being understanding and sensitive towards your significant other is the key to a successful relationship. Also, when fixing a broken relationship, don’t lie. Just be yourself and tell the truth to avoid regrets in the end.

Jamaica holidays are stuffed with fun journeys and love. You can climb an impressive waterfall, scuba or snorkel, go deep sea fishing, play golfing or tennis, hear Reggae in a Kinston nightclub and dance till dawn, sample real Jamaican jerk chicken or curry goat cuisine, or merely relax on a beach underneath a palm tree.
Dunn’s Brook Falls, near Ocho Rios, is among the world’s most stunning waterfalls. You can hike down the splashing falls, past cool cascades and pools under the tropical forest cover and then relax on a spotless beach where the freshwater runs to the ocean. Falls is less visited than Dunn’s Stream Falls, but just as an impressive. e.
The isolated falls start in clear pools of water underneath a cover of ferns, then cascade in a chain of steps thru a lush, tropical forest. You can horseback ride thru coconut and banana groves, into the hills and along the beach.
You can hike the Blue Mountains, the highest in the West Indies, or take a cover tour thru lush rainforest rising above the jungle from one platform to the next. For a little taste of history take a plantation tour, like Belvedere Estate near Negril or the Appleton Estate near Mandeville. Take a swim in the famous Blue Lagoon with its wonderful colours and imagine Brooke Shields or Tom Cruise by your side. Or swim with the dolphins at Dolphin Cove near Ocho Rios and have a genuine dolphin encounter. As for scuba swimming, though the Jamaican coral reefs are being threatened by global temperature increases and environmental pollution, they continue to offer some great dives. Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, Port Antonio, and Negril Jamaica are the most well-liked dive spots. Kingston’s Port Royal has many sunken ships and colourful exotic fish.
And if you would rather catch them than look at them, you can take a charter boat with a professional Captain to catch some great Caribbean fish. Jamaica’s colourful culture is an energetic mixture of African, EU , East Indian, Chinese, and Arabic ancestry. Though English is the officially sanctioned language of Jamaica, Patois – a mix of African and English – is spoken widely among the neighbors. You can step back centuries visiting Jamaica’s great houses and historic landmarks like Kingston’s Port Royal, Fort Charles, and Devon House. You can shop until you drop in Jamaica, with glorious crafts markets offering wood carvings, hand-made fabrics, and paintings. Jamaican coffee is well known as some of the planet’s best. Jamaican rum and Tia Maria coffee liqueur make fantastic gifts ; not to mention the designer shops and shopping centers in Kingston. Jamaica is also the home to a couple of the finest golfing courses in the Caribbean. The Breezes golfing course at Runaway Bay Jamaica and the Sandals Golf and members club at Ocho Rios are the best ; Montego Bay is also home to a few of the best courses in Jamaica. And, if you just need to relax on the beach with a cool tropical drink in hand or take a nightfall cruise on a catamaran at the day’s end, you may just forget all of the other fun things you can do in Jamaica. The concept of spending holidays as all inclusive is celebrated in several destinations in the world today. it’s actually possible to travel to the Caribbean Islands and find a bunch of options to pick from.
Nonetheless this would possibly not be superb for everybody, so it is critical to grasp what can be expected with one of those engaging packages. You’ll find some of the most sumptuous and favored all inclusive resorts in Jamaica, particularly in the Montego Bay and Negril areas that may cosset you beyond your most extravagant daydreams! When you choose one of these packed deals you’ll be given glorious facilities, meals, enjoyable pastimes, airplane tickets and refreshments. Some properties will offer more, but the significant thing is that you’re going to get to pay for everything in one bill and just relax and enjoy your vacation. However even with all of these appealing factors and the chances to save more, there are travelers who are unhappy with this arrangement.
Some folks believe that they are too isolated from the remainder of the island and can’t get to enjoy anything on the outside. While is a little true, this isn’t wholly the case as travelers are offered with options.
For example, there are packages that are offered by some resorts for tours to enjoy historic sites, journey trails, museums and more. Therefore it is pretty much possible for you to be staying at Sandals in Montego Bay and still get to go to the Greenwood Great House or perhaps the Bird Refuge in the hills of Anchovy.

Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino Opens to Public The Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino (affectionately called COSMO, our next door neighbor) effectively and formally opened their entrance doors on December 15th, 2010 at approximately 8:00 pm. Data groups were dispatched outdoors and Las Vegas Blvd. clamored with excitement. The Grand Opening Party was held on December 31st, 2010. Popular music was virtually performing from the roof tops filling the Blvd. residents with the New Years Eve mood. Cosmo has furnished our Las Vegas Blvd. access signs with some landscape gardening by the north door.
Do it yourself Auto parking is presently at your disposal for all Jockey Club owners and good friends. Level 3 B parking range located in Cosmos 5 story underground auto parking structure is the allocated space for all Jockey Club cars and trucks. These elevators will also access the Cosmopolitans Casino area as they each open on the south to the north and vice versa.
As you may know the Cosmopolitan has expended approximately 8 million dollars into the Jockey Club to date. It commenced with changing the Fire Protection System components. While we were code certified with fire safety, upgrades were beneficial brought about by the nearby vicinity of the new Cosmo. All common space and interiors of each suite are already retrofitted with sprinklers, strobes and speakers for announcing possible emergency situations. Modern emergency generators as well as extra water tanks have been installed and all fire exiting has been rerouted to the north drive. The water softening system tanks have been moved from underground to two considerable above ground installations. Demolition of areas not made use of under our pool deck has been undertaken.
Both Ascot and Derby Tower entrances have been taken from the south side to the north side of both constructions including matching marble and brass portal doors. The Porte Cochere (key entrance overhang drive up) was built with stone drive up, stone faced pillars, stained cement sidewalks, and Valet presentation areas and bell storage space. Our waste chutes were fitted with 2 compactors facilitating 4 dumpsters worth of waste to be dispensed into one reservoir. The gas meters and electric boxes are being transferred to a more ideal location. The team member only behind-the-scenes movement space has been improved for much easier approach from building to building with linens and large cleaning devices.
The computer connectivity for the inner workings of the Jockey Club was shifted to the far west end of the Derby tower ground level. Cosmo has paid for the 24/7 Valet Parking assistance and the 2 years of overflow parking at the Planet Hollywood; however, Cosmo will cease paying for the Jockey Club Valet services upon the launching of the new resort. They have repaved the entire north drive with completely new blacktop. 75 daily pool passes have been granted for Jockey Club owners and guests to use on the main Bamboo pool and sun deck area of the Cosmo as well as the two Jockey Club tennis courts that have been relocated to the Cosmo roof top.
